Handsome World Series

In "Handsome Safari" I want to work with the creativity of the human imagination by transforming hands into living figures. Using acrylic surfaces with inked outlines, I animate hands into a playful menagerie: yellow giraffes reaching for the sun, orange desert wolves howling in unison, and a purple bird poised to take flight.

The yellow sun, a central and unifying element, casts deep shadows that ground these abstract forms, blurring the line between reality and imagination. The composition evokes the primal joy of shadow puppetry - an ancient art form - while reinterpreting it through a modern lens of colour and movement.

Through this piece I want to remind viewers of the simplicity and universality of storytelling, where light, hands and imagination come together to create worlds. It is a call to rediscover childlike wonder and see the extraordinary in the everyday.
